Who writes this stuff?
Married Adults.com was originally the website for a
married adult Sunday School class at Prestonwood
Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Most of the young
married men in this class were computer geeks, so a
committee was put together to develop a site. After
about six months, most of the geeks lost interest. That
is to say, all but one–Jim Lewis–me. I asked
the rest of the group if I could hang on to the domain
name, and they said yes.
So, who is Jim Lewis? I am the worst of all kinds of
computer geeks. I am also an insurance geek. I am one
of the owners of Maximum
Corporation (MaxCorp). I serve as Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer for its insurance company
subsidiaries.
My background is computers. I have a B.S. in Computer
Science from Baylor University. I've been a computer
programmer, PC manager, computer salesman, and computer
repairman. I've used computers since 1982 when my
father
bought a TRS80 Model 16. I currently own an IBM T40p
and two AS/400s (through MaxCorp).
I am also a frustrated writer and mediocre website
designer. To satisfy my thirst for writing, I write
the content for FindaLink.net,
JamesGLewis.com,
and MarriedAdults.com.
To satisfy my thirst for website design, I hired a professional
who will redesign all of my sites sometime in 2004.
All of that is what I do. Who I am is more important.
First and foremost, I am a Christian. My passion is
discipleship. Discipleship is basically teaching people
how to live a balanced
Christian life. Read more about it in our Pizza and a Movie

My wife and I have been married since 1994. The Grocery
Money section of Married Adults.com reflects our
philosophy on handling finances.
We have one daughter. Hence, the Kids
section of Married Adults.com.
My Basic Doctrinal Beliefs
- There is one God: The Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit; who subsist in unity, and also as three
separate
distinct Persons.
- Jesus Christ is God's Son. He was born of a virgin
as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died
to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried,
arose
bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven and will literally
return to earth.
- The Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant,
counselor and instructor and His work is to reveal
Christ, convict
of sin, lead to repentance, guide believers, comfort,
strengthen, and sanctify the soul.
- The Bible is God's Holy Word, without error, and
is the sole authority for life.
- Human beings are the special creations of God,
made in His image. They fell through the sin of the
first
man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners in
need of salvation.
- Salvation is a gift through repentance toward God
and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who truly
is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ
and will spend eternity in heaven, while those
who
die in their sins will spend eternity in hell.
- Baptism is by immersion after salvation and is
done in obedience to Jesus Christ's command.
- Each believer has direct access to God through
the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The church is a local body of baptized believers
with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.
